We were delighted to announce earlier this year that Louis Perrin had scooped the Young Freight Forwarder of the Year award at the prestigious BIFA (British International Freight Association) Freight Service Awards.
Not only was the win great news for Louis and Hemisphere, but it also gave Louis the opportunity to compete for the 2018 Young International Freight Forwarder of the Year award. As part of his entry for the international award, Louis produced a 6,000-word dissertation, using two of Hemisphere’s projects as a case studies. Well, it’s safe to say it impressed the judges, who named Louis as the awards’ regional winner for Europe.
Louis will now compete against the regional winners for the Americas, Asia/Pacific and Africa/Middle East at the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations’ (FIATA) World Congress, which takes place in New Delhi from 26-29 September. As well as a trophy, the winner will be awarded with two weeks of academic and practical training, plus a year’s free subscription to the International Transport Journal and International Freighting Weekly.
Louis will also present his dissertation to fellow young freight forwarders during Young Logistics Professional Day on Monday 24 September, and deliver a speech about the future of logistics to delegates at the Europe regional meeting on Wednesday 26 September.
“It’s an honour just to be shortlisted for this award, and I am proud of what I have achieved to date.” said Louis. “It may sound like a cliche, but it wouldn’t have been possible without the fantastic team I have around me at Hemisphere. I’m very excited about heading to Delhi and meeting up with other freight professionals from around the world. It should be a great experience.”
