In another positive step towards a better, more sustainable world, we’ve become Gold Partners of Suffolk Wildlife Trust. The local conservation and environmental education organisation will join Inspire Suffolk as our community charity partners. As part of our ESG commitments, teaming up with Suffolk Wildlife Trust will bring benefits to our colleagues as well as our surrounding environment.
Sustainability is our priority
Whilst the issue of climate change and a greener future is global, there are many opportunities for our business to make local contributions to a more sustainable world. As an ‘Investor in Wildlife’ member of the Trust, we’ll contribute towards their mission to ‘Bring Nature Back’. This includes securing at least a third of Suffolk’s land and sea for conservation and inspiring a quarter of the county’s residents to take action for nature and climate.
The partnership will also contribute towards our sustainability strategy. This plan includes being a part of the BIFA Sustainable Logistics Policy Group, becoming a carbon-neutral company and taking action to build our ‘Green Logistics’ offering en route to becoming a Net Zero company. We’re also developing sustainability and environment training for our team, which our new charity partners will be part of.
Getting our team closer to nature
To inspire and connect our colleagues with their local environment, our new partnership will give them more hands-on experience with nature. As a Gold Partner, we’ll receive the Wild Suffolk Magazine to find out all about the charity’s work in the local area throughout the year. This will be sent to the team alongside invitations to charity events and membership discounts.
Plus, there will be opportunities for employee days out at various nature reserves across Suffolk. This means our team can take positive action towards a more sustainable local environment as our business looks to do the same on a global scale.
