Hemisphere Freight Services are delighted to announce that we have been named among the finalists for not one, but two awards at the 2017 BIFA Freight Services Awards.
This announcement is a culmination of an exciting year for the company in during which we launched our new website, opened an office in Shenzhen, China and made a number of excellent additions to the team. All of this while consistently delivering effective logistics solutions to our clients around the World. To be recognised for our achievements by the selection panel at the British International Freight Association is a great honour. Here’s a little more detail on the two awards that we are in contention for.
Recognising our Ocean Freight Expertise
Of the two awards that Hemisphere have been shortlisted for, the Ocean Services Award truly recognises the value, expertise and commitment of the whole team, most notably our ocean freight experts. Our award submission centres around a particular project that saw us coordinate the shipping of a vast number of data centre components (including 20 plant decks, 40 air optimiser sections and 33 containers) from the UK to Australia. You can take a look at our video case study below.
The level of planning – for literally every eventuality – that went into the project makes it one that we are immensely proud of. The scale and value of the cargo, combined with the sheer distance of transportation makes this a case study that we are really pleased to see being shared among our peers at one of the most prestigious awards ceremonies in the freight and logistics industries.
An Accolade for our Director, Louis Perrin
In addition to the endorsement of the company through the Ocean Services Award, we are delighted to see the hard work and dedication of one of our team being individually recognised. By being named among the five finalists in contention for the Young Freight Forwarder Award, Louis Perrin is deservedly listed among some of the industry’s most forward-thinking and progressive logistics experts.
Louis’ award submission highlighted his ever-growing contribution to the success of Hemisphere through a journey that has included leadership roles in the Warehousing and Projects teams. Now, as Company Director, Louis has taken responsibility for developing the Hemisphere brand and improving our IT and administrative infrastructure in order to continue our progression as a truly global logistics provider. He has also shown great passion for putting in place the building blocks to ensure the Hemisphere team receive the training they need to fulfil their career ambitions and he continues to demonstrate enthusiasm for championing education and knowledge sharing in UK logistics.
The Awards Ceremony
The competition is sure to hot up in the build up to the BIFA Awards ceremony, which is due to be held on Thursday 18th January 2018 at the Brewery, Chiswell Street in London. BIFA reported a near record number of entries for the 29th instalment of their annual awards, with these entries set to be scrutinised further by the sponsor judging panel in the lead up to the event, in order to decide on winners in each of the eight categories.
